PARKER, Colo.—Parker police say drug, alcohol and excessive speed do not appear to be factors in an auto-pedestrian collision that killed a 14-year-old boy.
Police spokeswoman Sara Walla says Logan Bauman was in a center median near an unlit intersection about 6 p.m. Saturday when he attempted to cross a street outside of a crosswalk and was struck by a car.
Logan was taken to Parker Adventist Hospital and later airlifted to The Children’s Hospital in Aurora, where he died.
Authorities say the driver remained at the scene and attempted to help the boy. The driver’s name has not been released and no charges have been filed.
Friends gathered at the scene Sunday and remembered Logan as a happy teen who never had a bad word to say about anyone and who loved to give hugs.
