DENVER—Authorities say a Denver man accused of sexually assaulting a brother and sister who lived with him after being kicked out of a homeless shelter faces additional charges that he assaulted another child.

Eric Torrez, 42, was charged earlier this month on accusations that he sexually assaulted the siblings after their mother sent them to live with his family. Prosecutors said the siblings, now in their 20s, recently reported the alleged abuse.

Torrez’s wife and son are accused of being complicit in the abuse and of also having sex with the girl, who said she was first abused when she was 12.

On Tuesday, Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey filed new charges against Torrez, after authorities say a woman told detectives she lived in the same neighborhood as Torrez in the late 1980s and early 1990s and was sexually assaulted.

Prosecutors say Torrez now faces two more counts of sexual assault on a child and one count of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.

He is being held in the Denver County Jail on $2 million bail and is scheduled to appear in court on the new charges Thursday.
