VAIL — A 72-year-old man who threatened to blow up four Aspen banks on New Year’s Eve and later killed himself is now believed to have previously robbed a Vail bank twice.
James Blanning was identified Friday as a “prime suspect” in the robberies of Vail’s WestStar bank March 21, 2005, and July 2, 2006.
