CEDAR FALLS, Iowa—The top-ranked University of Iowa wrestling team beat Cornell 23-13 Sunday to win its second straight NWCA National Duals title.

The Hawkeyes, who beat Nebraska for last year’s title and downed the Huskers 22-11 to reach this year’s championship match, improved to 14-0 in duals this season. The have won 28 straight matches.

Cornell, the tournament’s third seed, beat Iowa State 22-15 to reach the finals.

Against the Hawkeyes, Cornell won decisions at 125 and 133 to go up 6-0. But Iowa came back and sealed the win with victories at the last four weights.

Iowa junior Brent Metcalf decisioned D.J. Meagher 18-6 at 149 pounds for his 51st straight win and improved to 19-0 on the season. Metcalf had a pin, two technical falls a one major decision in the tournament.

Iowa State edged Nebraska 20-19 for third place, Ohio State downed Minnesota 25-12 for fifth and Boise State beat Penn State 22-15 for seventh.
