The Florida Marlins are again looking for some
footloose fat men. The team is holding tryouts for the second season of the Marlins Manatees — an all-male, plus-size cheerleading squad. Real manatees, known as “sea cows,” are best known for their large dimensions and being unable to avoid boat propellers. The Marlins want their Manatees to have the same dimensions but to be decidedly more agile. The group dances between innings at home games on Friday and Saturday nights. Candidates must be willing to learn a dance routine and don Marlins gear. Tryouts start today.
