Colorado Springs firefighters rescued two people from the second floor of an apartment complex late last night, authorities say.

No one was injured in the large home that was converted into apartments and a business at 431 Cascade Ave., said Lt. Julie Stone, Colorado Springs fire spokeswoman.

Two of the seven residents were rescued after firefighters were called to the complex at 11:29 p.m., Stone said.

About 25 firefighters had the fire contained within 15 minutes, she said.

The blaze started in a law office at the building, Stone said.

Residents were allowed to return to their apartments this morning, she said.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the fire and how much damage was caused, Stone said.
