A clear, sunny day in the metro region Thursday will have a high temperature of 35 degrees before a warm spell rolls in Friday, according to the National Weather Service office in Boulder.

Friday’s high is expected to be 57 with highs in the mid-50s Saturday before temperatures return to the 30s in Denver on Sunday.

Areas in the High Country are in line for up to foot of snow Thursday, before the weekend warmup.

Wind-chill could reach 30-below zero at higher mountain altitudes Thursday, and a winter weather advisory in effect until 11 a.m. Thursday in Summit and Grand counties, according to the Weather Service.

But sunny skies and warmer temperatures are expected across the state for the weekend, according to the statewide forecast for Friday and the weekend.

The central mountains could see highs in the 40s by the beginning of next week, with a 10 percent chance of snow Saturday and Sunday. Steamboat Springs has a 20 percent chance of snow Saturday.

Recent snowfall has pushed the statewide snowpack to 119 percent of the 30-year average, however, have many regions under an “considerable” avalanche risks in the San Juans, Sawatch Range, the Gunnison River basin and in the backcountry near Aspen, Vail, Winter Park, Eldora, Estes Park, Steamboat Springs, according the Colorado Avalanche Information Center.
