AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.—Kristen Scheffler scored 21 points, including 5-of-8 from three-point range, as Wyoming downed Air Force 52-41 Wednesday night.
Hillary Carlson added 13 points and six rebounds for the Cowgirls.
In a close game, it was Wyoming’s three-point shooting that made the difference. The Cowgirls (10-9, 2-4 Mountain West Conference) made 6-of-11 from long range, good for a 54.5 percentage.
Air Force was led by Brooke Cultra, who notched a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Kim Kreke tallied nine points and 10 rebounds for the Falcons (4-15, 0-6). She also finished with three steals and a career-high five blocked shots.
Both teams made 7-of-27 shots in the first half, but four of Wyoming’s baskets were 3-pointers as Air Force trailed 22-16 at the half.
The Cowgirls maintained the lead the rest of the game.
