A 54-year-old homeless man was murdered and his body left on a pedestrian bridge over Interstate 25 near Monument Valley Park, authorities say.

The body of David Doyle was discovered just above railroad tracks Thursday at 4:45 a.m. on the bridge, said Lt. David Whitlock of the Colorado Springs Police Department.

The El Paso County Coroner’s office determined his death was a homicide and that he was beaten in the head, according to a news release.
