EAGLE COUNTY — A 40-year-old Connecticut man died in a snowmobile accident near Grand Lake on Sunday morning. The man lost control of his snowmobile and hit a tree.
According to a news release from the Grand County Sheriff’s Office, the man was pronounced dead at the scene after hitting the tree at 8:45 a.m. Authorities said efforts were made to save the man’s life. It was not clear whether paramedics or witnesses performed the life-saving tactics.
The man was snowmobiling with nine members of his family and friends. His name is being withheld until family members are notified of the accident.
