A 40-year-old Connecticut man died in a snowmobile accident near Grand Lake this morning. The man lost control of his snowmobile and hit a tree.
According to a news release from the Grand County Sheriff’s office, the man was pronounced dead at the scene after hitting the tree at 8:45 a.m. Upon striking the tree, authorities said efforts were made to save the man’s life. It has not yet been indicated who performed the life-saving tactics – paramedics or witnesses.
The man was snowmobiling with nine members of his family and friends. His name is being withheld until family is notified of the accident.
