LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska women’s coach Connie Yori says she’s hopeful athletic director Tom Osborne’s plan for a new basketball practice facility becomes reality.

Yori said Thursday that she can’t change the state’s cold weather or the lack of in-state recruits. But she hopes a new facility would improve the Huskers’ chances of being competitive every year.

With the power in Big 12 women’s basketball residing in the South Division, Yori says, a northern school needs any edge it can get.

Osborne has said he hopes to build a practice facility adjacent to the Devaney Sports Center within the next couple years.
