GOLDEN — Jefferson County’s Citizen Budget Review Panel has begun looking into county government’s capital construction and facility needs.

On Tuesday, the panel, appointed in 2007 by the Board of County Commissioners to examine the county’s budgetary position, received an in-depth briefing on the county’s fiscal situation and outlook.

County board chairman Kevin McCasky said the panel will analyze and recommend financial strategies for projects such as a jail expansion, county offices and the Table Mountain Animal Center.
