NORTHGLENN — Police say a man who talked to officers during a routine traffic stop Tuesday afternoon was shot in the head a short time later in an apartment less than a block away. The man, who has not been identified, died at Denver Health Medical Center.
He was shot inside a unit at Thistle-Sage Apartments at 11801 Washington St. shortly after 5 p.m., about a half-hour after he was questioned a block away at East 118th Avenue and Washington Street, said Northglenn police Sgt. Steve Garrow.
Two men at the apartment were taken into custody. A third man, believed to the gunman, ran off and was caught a short distance away, Garrow said. He had been a passenger in the car, Garrow said.
