Arvada police who went to a home seeking a woman on an outstanding warrant found more than a dozen dead cats and dogs today.
Thirteen dead cats and two dead dogs were found inside the home in the 5400 block of Cody Street. Two dogs and four cats were found alive but in poor condition and taken to the Table Mountain Animal Center for treatment.
Marie Woodward, 21, was arrested on a warrant for a building code violation, and faces numerous animal cruelty charges. She doesn’t live at the home.
Also arrested at the home in the 5400 block of Cody Street was Joshua Vaughn, 22, who also faces animal cruelty charges.
She told police that she was involved in an animal rescue operation, said Arvada police spokeswoman Susan Medina.
