PUEBLO — Mary Rehfeld and Rachel Espinoza each scored 18 points as CSU-Pueblo (21-8), the No. 4 seed, eliminated top-seeded Fort Lewis 83-65 in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Shootout quarterfinal Friday.

The Skyhawks (26-3), ranked No. 4 in the Division II coaches poll, shot only 31 percent (12-of-38) in the first half and trailed 41-30 at the break. The Thunderwolves, meanwhile, made 30 of their 51 shots for the game and converted 17-of-18 free throws. It was the third-straight season that CSU-Pueblo upset Fort Lewis in the RMAC Shootout.

Colo. Mines 63, Neb.-Kearney 56: Emily Dalton had 14 points and eight rebounds to lead the Orediggers (19-10), who shot only 33.9 percent but held the Lopers (20-9) to an even worse percentage: 29.4.

MEN

Metro State 76, CSU-Pueblo 65:

The Roadrunners, ranked No. 11 in Division II, had a tough time putting away the Thunderwolves despite a 36-22 points-in-the-paint advantage and getting 20 points off 24 CSU-Pueblo turnovers.

RMAC season MVP Jesse Wagstaff led Metro (28-3) with 22 points. Rome Smith had 24 points for the Thunderwolves (16-15.)

Fort Lewis 92, Colo. Christian 79: Kirk Archibeque exploded for 39 points and had nine rebounds to lead the Skyhawks (23-8) to the comeback win. The Cougars (17-11) led by two at halftime, then were outscored 53-38 in the second half.
