MINNEAPOLIS — Corrections officials in Minnesota have decided that former 1970s radical and longtime fugitive Sara Jane Olson can serve her parole in St. Paul.

Olson, 62, has served seven years in prison in California for violent acts associated with a group that called itself the Symbionese Liberation Army. She was arrested in 1999 in St. Paul, where she had been living as a fugitive for 25 years. She is scheduled to be paroled on March 17. Olson asked to serve her parole in Minnesota under an interstate compact that allows parolees to live with family.
