Highlights from the Legislature on Monday:
— The House approved and sent to the Senate House Bill 1276, which allows a three-month time-out in foreclosure proceedings so homeowners can work with their banks to avoid losing their homes.
— The Senate voted 27-8 to give final approval to House Bill 1174, which excuses farmers who use irrigation wells along the South Platte from having to replace water their wells drew before March 15, 1974, from an aquifer that supplies the river. It now heads to the governor.
— House Bill 1082, requiring school boards to record all meetings in which votes are taken, won final approval in the Senate. It now heads back to the House, which passed a version requiring recordings of all regular and special meetings.
New Bills:
— Require insurance plans to cover the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of autism (Senate Bill 244).
