Denver International Airport has surpassed Los Angeles International Airport in passenger traffic, becoming the nation’s fourth-busiest airport.
Nearly 1.8 million passengers got on and off planes in Denver last year, up 3.8 percent from 1.731 million in 2007, according to the Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Los Angeles recorded 1.619 million passengers last year, down 8.7 percent.
Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International enplaned more passengers last year than any other U.S. airport for the 13th consecutive year.
More international passengers boarded U.S. airliners at Miami International in 2008 than at any other U.S. airport for the 14th consecutive year.
