More than $20 million in upgrades at three Colorado airports will be funded by federal grants through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
U.S. Sens. Mark Udall and Michael Bennet of Colorado announced the grants today at Denver International Airport.
DIA is set to receive $7 million for runway rehabilitation. Centennial Airport would get $4.05 million for taxiway rehabilitation, and Aspen-Pitkin County Airport would get $4 million for apron improvements. Airport aprons generally include the areas where planes are parked, boarded and refueled.
