AURORA, Colo.—A 61-year-old man is in custody on accusations that he fatally stabbed a woman in a parking lot in Aurora.

Authorities say Zimmeri Claudius McNeal is being held without bond at the Adams County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery. He is accused of killing 62-year-old Catherine Bermudez early Sunday in a parking lot near East 16th Avenue and Paris Street.

Adams County Coroner James Hibbard says Bermudez was strangled and stabbed multiple times.

Police found her body and arrested McNeal after officers responded to the scene shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday on a report of a man and woman arguing.

Police said Monday they were still trying to figure out what the relationship was between a McNeal and Bermudez.
