“Great Races, Incredible Places: 100+ Fantastic Runs Around the World,” ($16, Bantam Books) isn’t just for you ultra-marathoners, although there are plenty of crazy treks like that in here, such as the 62.1-miler at Hovsgol National Park in Mongolia. But adventure runner Kimi Puntillo, a two-time Guinness record holder from New York City, also includes short faves such as her local 3.1-mile Tunnel to Towers run and Denver’s 3.5-mile Gorilla Run. First posted is the month the official run is held, along with a phone number and website, followed by a few pages of description. A handy index lists them all again, and the color photographs in the middle are so good you’ll wish there were more. Kyle Wagner
