DENVER—The Colorado Avalanche called up defenseman Wes O’Neill from the AHL’s Lake Erie Monsters and he’s expected to play against the Vancouver Canucks Friday night.
It’s the NHL debut for O’Neill, who has one goal and five assists in 50 games for Lake Erie this season. The 23-year-old is a native of Windsor, Ontario and a Notre Dame graduate who signed with Colorado as a free agent in 2007.
