BOULDER — Nobel laureate Tom Cech is returning to the University of Colorado at Boulder full time this month and plans to teach a general undergraduate chemistry course this fall. Cech shared the 1989 Nobel Prize in chemistry and became president of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute based in Chevy Chase, Md., in 2000. CU said Monday that Cech will resume his work as a CU-based investigator for the institute and will become director of the Colorado Initiative in Molecular Biotechnology, founded by CU in 2003.
