
With Earth Day and camping season right around the corner, The North Face is unveiling its latest line of sustainable products, including the Green Kazoo three-season sleeping bag (MSRP: $279).
Made with 100 percent recycled polyester (from water bottles, garment fabrics and factory yarn waste), TNF claims the new design results in an 84 percent reduction in energy consumption and a 77 percent reduction in CO output compared with polyester made from raw material. The 600 down-fill bags are rated at 15 degrees and weigh in at less than 3 pounds. Features include Climashield anti-compression pads around the head, torso and feet to create a buffer between the ground and common contact points.
