GOLDEN, Colo.—The former executive director of a Jefferson County children’s advocacy group has been arrested on charges of stealing $20,000 from the organization.
Prosecutors said Tuesday 58-year-old Cheryl Fugett of Denver faces charges of theft and forgery. She’s accused of taking the money from the Jefferson County Children’s Alliance between December 2003 and February 2007.
Authorities say Fugett was arrested in Coos County, Ore., on March 11 and extradited to Colorado. She is free on $10,000 bail.
A home phone listed for Fugett has been disconnected and it wasn’t known if she had an attorney. She hasn’t entered a plea.
