Police arrested a 19-year-old Loveland man early this morning as a suspect in a stabbing death, police said.

David Shern, 34, of Loveland was stabbed at about 9:45 p.m. Thursday at North Lake Park, according to a Loveland Police Department media release.

A friend took Shern to McKee Medical Center, where he later died, police said.

The Larimer County coroner ruled Shern’s death a homicide.

At about 5:15 a.m., Larry Walters Jr., 19, was arrested at a Loveland home, police said.

The stabbing remains under investigation.

Police did not comment on a motive in the case or the relationship, if any, between the two men.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Detective Chuck Sutterfield at 970-667-2151.
