Authorities have identified the victim in a Friday school bus accident as an 89-year-old Littleton woman.
Elizabeth R. King was pronounced dead Friday at about 5 p.m. at Littleton Hospital, said Trooper David Hall of the Colorado State Patrol.
King was driving a gray 1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo east on West Brook Drive at 3:55 p.m. Friday when she didn’t stop at a stop sign and turned onto southbound Wadsworth Boulevard into the path of a 1996 school bus, Hall said.
The front end of the bus collided with the driver’s side of King’s car, authorities say. King was not wearing a seat belt, he said.
Bus driver Dianne M. Loyd, 58, of Denver was not injured in the crash, Hall said.
Three Colorado Academy school children, ages 17, 15 and 7, were on the bus at the time. None of them was injured, he said. Authorities did not release their names.
