An emotional ceremony was held this morning at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora as 30 people headed off to serve in Iraq.
They are members of the 140th Wing of Colorado Air National Guard, and it’s the seventh deployment of the group in the last six years in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the Guard said in a news release.
The group that left today will be gone six months and will “provide force protection for deployed personnel and assets” in the U.S. Central Command area.
