AURORA, Colo.—Authorities say an Aurora apartment fire that seriously injured a man may have been intentionally set.
Aurora police Detective Bob Friel says the injured man is “fighting for his life” at a hospital after the fire, which also injured two others. The fire happened at about 1:45 a.m. Thursday.
Aurora police rescued the man from the building before more than three dozen firefighters arrived.
The Mile High Chapter of the American Red Cross says as many as 18 residents were forced out of their homes. The Red Cross is providing hotel rooms, food, clothing for those residents.
Investigators believe the blaze started in a hallway near some stairs. They are offering a $5,000 reward for information on who may have set the fire.
