AURORA — Five people were arrested after as many as 60 people were involved in fights near a high school.

Aurora police say two of those arrested are Overland High School students and the other three are adults.

Police spokesman Detective Shannon Youngquist Lucy says officers assigned to the school saw several groups of teenagers gathered near the school Thursday afternoon before the fights. She says officers broke up a fight near a 7-Eleven before two more fights started nearby.

Lucy says as many as 100 people watched the fighting. Police did not say what triggered the altercations.

The students were not named. They were ticketed and released to their parents.

The adults arrested were Antwon Lee Wright, 18, Amin Elhoweris, 21, and Brandon Dwyon Jackson, 23.
