AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.—The new superintendent of the Air Force Academy will assume command in a ceremony next week.
Lt. Gen. Michael C. Gould will take over for retiring superintendent Lt. Gen. John Regni on June 9.
Gould was nominated by President Barack Obama in early February. He was the director of operations and plans at the Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., before the nomination.
Gould is a 1976 graduate of the academy.
Regni, a 1973 academy graduate, has overseen the school since October 2005.
