Denver police today said they are still looking for a known suspect in one homicide and are asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects in another case.
Heber Santiago Godoy, 20, is wanted in the shooting death of a security guard, Alfredo Gonzalez-Ramos, 32, at the El Chaparral Night Club in west Denver on May 29.
Investigators said several individuals were involved in fights inside and outside the club. As security guards tried to break them up, Gonzalez-Ramos was killed.
Police also said today that they have released a suspect, David Cano-Rivera, 21, in the El Chaparral shooting pending further investigation.
Cano-Rivera was being held on suspicion of accessory to first-degree murder, police said. Godoy is wanted on suspicion of first-degree murder in the case.
Denver homicide investigators meanwhile are seeking the public’s help in finding a suspect or suspects in the death of 21-year-old Jacob Medina.
Medina was killed early Sunday when a fight broke out at a big party in the 1200 block of South Pecos Street, Denver police said.
Several people were injured in the brawl from “various types of weapons,” police said.
“Medina received injuries from the fight causing his death,” police said.
Anyone with information on Medina’s homicide is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).
