GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A former music professor at Mesa State College in Grand Junction has pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender.

Fifty-three-year-old George Rosenbaum entered the plea Thursday in a Mesa County courtroom.

He had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault on a child. He was sentenced in 2000 to at least 10 years probation and four months of work release after admitting he engaged in a sexual relationship with a viola student who was in high school at the time.

A judge also ordered him to register as a sex offender for 10 years.

Sentencing on the failure to register charge is scheduled for Aug. 21.
