If you like your pop beats heavy and your songs full of of playful “nah-nahs,” you’ve gotta hear “Next in Line,” the lead single on Meese’s major label debut, “Broadcast” (Atlantic Records). (Hear it .) The song is a blast, and the Denver band has high hopes that the track will help them break out when “Broadcast” is released on June 30.
Fans don’t have to wait until the 30th to own “Next in Line,” which is now available on iTunes. Listen to the single, and tell us if you think it’s a stronger pick than “Tell Me It’s Over” — the local-radio hit formerly known as “The Start of It” (also streaming on ). I personally enjoy both songs, but “Tell Me It’s Over” makes me wanna start a dance party whereas “Next in Line” makes me wanna singalong — two very different reactions.
Meese’s next Colorado show is at the Teva Mountain Games in Vail tonight, but the band will also play the Westword Music Showcase on June 13.
O, and here’s a sneak peak at “Broadcast’s” album art:
