SÃO PAULO — Brazil’s Supreme Court has refused to accept a bid by a political party to stop a 9-year-old boy from being taken to the United States to live with his father. The court ruled that a federal court in Rio de Janeiro should decide whether 9-year-old Sean Goldman will return to the U.S. to live with father David Goldman or remain with his stepfamily in Brazil. But David Goldman’s attorney says the federal court must first consider an appeal from the boy’s stepfamily, who insist he stay with them.
