LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska pitcher Mike Nesseth and infielder Jeff Tezak are among those headed to the major league.
Nesseth was selected Wednesday in the 15th round of the Major League Baseball draft by the Los Angeles Angels.
Nesseth has compiled a 9-5 record over the last two years with the Cornhuskers, striking out 126 hitters over 102.1 career innings.
Tezak was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 24th round.
The switch hitter was a .318 hitter in 113 career games.
The Philadelphia Phillies picked up Creighton first baseman Darin Ruf and Bellevue University standout Justin Long.
Ruf finished his senior year hitting .303 with eight homers and 51 RBI. The Phillies selected him in the 20th round.
Long was taken in the 24th round.
He earned first team all-Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference honors this season while splitting time in the outfield and on the pitching mound.
