PUEBLO, Colo.—A 19-year-old man is accused of walking into an elementary school and threatening a school employee with a knife.

Tony Ron Vigil faces charges of menacing with a deadly weapon and second-degree criminal trespass for the incident at Minnequa Elementary School. He was being held without bail Wednesday at Pueblo County jail.

Vigil walked into a hallway Tuesday morning just as a school employee was unlocking the doors. The school employee told Vigil, who smelled strongly of alcohol, that he wasn’t allowed there and escorted him outside, according to a police report.

Vigil demanded the employee give him a ride and took out a knife when the employee refused.

Police say Vigil also tried slashing car tries outside the school.
