DENVER—Gov. Bill Ritter says he’s raised over $400,000 for his re-election campaign in the last three months.

His campaign released the information to supporters in an e-mail Wednesday. It said there were 1,299 donors and the average contribution was $315.

The campaign didn’t provide a list of donors. Campaign manager David Kenney said they would be included in the official campaign finance report, still being compiled.

Ritter, a Democrat, has until July 15 to file his report on second-quarter donations.

The fundraising news comes three days before another potential Republican challenger—Sen. Josh Penry—announces whether he’ll enter the race. Former congressman Scott McInnis, and Evergreen businessman Dan Maes are already seeking the GOP nomination.
