WASHINGTON — The two top U.S. officials in Afghanistan have repeatedly visited Pakistan in recent weeks to ensure that the Pakistani army is prepared for any Taliban insurgents retreating from a new coalition military offensive, the Obama administration special envoy to the region said Wednesday. Stanley McChrystal, have consulted “fairly regularly” with Pakistani officials.
