Pick a little.
For the freshest fruits, herbs and vegetables, nothing beats filling a basket yourself. Peach-picking time on the Western Slope starts later this week. Just about everything you can pick, from apples to zinnias, is listed on this website. Most U-pick farms also sell packaged produce.

Paging all shutterbugs: The Lakewood Heritage Center is accepting photographs illustrating everyday life in Lakewood. As part of Lakewood’s 40th anniversary, 40 photographs will be chosen, based on composition, exposure and mood, and displayed at the Radius Gallery from Sept. 2 to Jan. 15, 2010.
