COLORADO SPRINGS — A three-alarm fire caused major damage to a condominium complex this afternoon.
The blaze, at 2268 Stepping Stones Way on the city’s west side, was reported at 3:47 p.m.
A 63-year-old woman was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation and was reported in stable condition.
A total of 12 units have been evacuated with 6 units suffering major fire damage, according to the Colorado Springs Fire Department. The Red Cross is currently working with the emergency officials to assist the displaced occupants.
Numerous pets were reported missing.
Fire crews were unable to enter the units due to the unstable conditions. No cause has been determined.
