DENVER—Colorado Democrats are showing their support for President Barack Obama’s health care reform following his town hall meeting in Grand Junction.

Gov. Bill Ritter defended the president on Sunday’s “Meet the Press” when asked about Obama’s middling approval ratings.

Ritter said he thought “partisan wrangling” at town hall meetings across the country was to blame because it was distracting Americans from getting the facts.

He said people who hear Obama speak about his plans are impressed with his vision.

Ritter and other Democrats say Grand Junction is a model for learning how to lower health care costs and improve care. But opponents to the health overhaul say the town is proof that doctors do those things without government involvement.
