DENVER—House Republican Leader Mike May of Parker says he plans to appoint fellow Republican Kent Lambert of Colorado Springs to the six-member Joint Budget Committee.
Lambert on Monday will replace former Rep. Don Marostica, a Loveland Republican. Marostica resigned his seat to become the economic development director for Gov. Bill Ritter, a Democrat.
In the past, May has expressed disappointment with Marostica, a moderate who frequently voted with Democrats on budget issues.
May says he wants a “true fiscal conservative” who will defend the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights in the state constitution.
