Centennial city offices will open late today — at 10 a.m. — after a bizarre traffic accident in which a pickup plunged into the Centennial Civic Center building.
The pickup was involved in a three-car crash at 7:15 p.m. on East Arapahoe Road at Revere Parkway, according to the city.
After colliding with two cars, the pickup traveled about 200 yards across an open field at an estimated 40 mph before smashing into the west side of the city building.
The unidentified driver was taken to Swedish Medical Center in Englewood with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.
Another person in one of the two other vehicles had minor injuries, said sheriff’s Sgt. T. Stewart. The driver of the pickup has not been charged while the investigation is continuing, Stewart said.
