Van Morrison doesn’t tour often — a fact his fans often lament. But when he does, he rarely disappoints. The Irish soul singer’s voice is still thoroughly intact and alive, and he has no problem playing the songs you know by heart. “Brown Eyed Girl,” “Moondance,” “Wild Night” and even the Them tune he so famously penned “Gloria” — they’ll all likely represent when Morrison plays the Wells Fargo Theatre (inside the Colorado Convention Center) on Sept. 26. Here’s the kicker: Tickets, available via or 303-830-8497, cost between $90 and $350. Yikes. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. today. Star Wars: In Concert is one of the more unusual events to play the Pepsi Center this year. The multimedia event, playing two shows at The Can on Oct. 18, will be narrated by Anthony Daniels (C-3PO). But the real star is composer John Williams and his six film scores, as the concert will include a full orchestra and choir that will guide the audience along a selection of movie clips playing on a three-story movie screen. “We’ve taken the key themes from the music and cut together all the images that fit with each theme, so you can really get a sense of how the music played into the images,” said “Star Wars” creator George Lucas. Tickets to the shows (2 and 7 p.m. Oct. 18), $35-$75, go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at . David Cross was at the forefront of the then-underground indie comedy scene with his roles in “Mr. Show” in the mid-’90s, but now he’s a household name with credits on cult-classic television shows (“Arrested Development”) and scene-making music videos (the Strokes, Yo La Tengo, the Black Keys). Cross brings his show to the Paramount Theatre Sept. 29. Tickets, $35-$37, go on sale at . or 866-461-6556 at 10 a.m. Saturday. (If you and your buddies buy tickets in a four-pack, each ticket is $26.25.) Paramore played Denver a couple of months ago, opening the No Doubt show in front of 15,000-plus kids at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre. When the modern rock band returns to town, playing the Fillmore Auditorium on Oct. 4, they will be celebrating the release of the new full-length “Brand New Eyes,” a CD that already has a hit single in “Ignorance.” (The record will be released Sept. 29.) Paper Route and the Swellers will open the show. Tickets, $27.50, are available at . starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. Five Finger Death Punch makes music that you’d expect with such a name. The L.A. band’s melodic metal is prettier than it is dirty, especially when so many designate the group as a thrash band. As part of the band’s Shock and Raw Tour, FFDP will perform at the Fillmore Auditorium on Oct. 28 for rock radio station KBPI’s annual Infest show. Shadows Fall, OTEP and 2 Cents will also play. Tickets, $25, will be available on . starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.
