FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Colorado State University has announced a campaign to raise a total of $500 million by 2012, with money going toward scholarships and fellowships, enhanced facilities and educational programs.
The school has already raised about $290 million during the last four years of the campaign, which was publicly announced Saturday. Of the overall $500 million goal, half would be earmarked for scholarships.
Vice President of Advancement and Strategic Initiatives Joyce Berry says that as state funding for higher education declines, CSU needs to bolster private support.
CSU President Tony Frank says discussions are under way about asking Colorado voters at some point to designate funding streams for higher education.
