DELTA, Colo.—A southwest Colorado man has been arrested on 468 counts of sexual assault, accused of abusing a girl beginning when she was 5 years old.
Forty-three-year-old Jorge Arturo Montes of Delta is being held under $500,000 bail on charges of sexual assault on a child by someone in a position of trust.
Delta County jail officials said Tuesday they had no record of an attorney in the sex assault case.
An arrest warrant affidavit says the alleged victim, now an adult, first spoke to deputies about the case on Aug. 17. It wasn’t immediately clear when the alleged abuse took place.
According to the affidavit, the woman told police she was abused between the ages of 5 and 11 and that Montes threatened to kill her mother if she told anyone.
