LINCOLN, Neb.—The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says a special fishing day has been arranged for young people.

Children up to age 15 can fish in the stocked pond at Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge near Valentine on Saturday morning.

Adults must accompany children under age 10.

Volunteers will be available to bait hooks, unsnarl lines and give casting instructions.

There will be fishing gear available to borrow, and there will be lessons on how to clean and cook fish.

The refuge is five miles east of Valentine in north-central Nebraska’s Cherry County.
