“I’m very lucky. I have Medicare and Tricare for life because my deceased husband was in the military. But not everybody is that lucky. My sister in California, her husband had a terrible time. He ended up having to have brain surgery — he had a subdural hematoma, and the bills were absolutely outrageous. He had Medicare, but it didn’t cover everything.”
